Coastal inspired, British made
Atlantic Blankets began in 2007 in north Cornwall; born out of the need to find the cosiest and softest blanket to comfort a child.
Today the company, run by family team Gemma and Al, is located in the coastal village of Perranporth, where we design beautiful blankets that help create happy memories. All that you see on our website has been designed by us in Cornwall, taking inspiration from our ocean surroundings, and made with our traditional mill partners across Britain.
We are dedicated to making everything within Britain, using traditional methods and mills; helping to enrich the British wool industry.
Our happy place is the sea.
The Atlantic ocean is a key part of who we are; it's what surrounds us, and what inspires us. A visit to the beach or the coast and the sense you get when looking out to, or being immersed in the sea is a feeling like no other. There’s a sense of calm, peace, and overall happiness.
And we believe this feeling is similar when wrapped up in your favourite blanket. A happy place, safe, comforting, where happy moments and memories are made. So whether you get to visit the ocean or not, a snuggle under an Atlantic Blankets helps to find that happy place.
Every blanket comes with a handpicked shell from the beach to heighten that connection further.
We are a family business; our two children Ruby and Jago help and inspire us every day. Ruby has a good eye for design and is currently designing her own children’s blanket collection, and Jago is the king of the shell hunt, finding all of the best limpet shells to add to the blankets.
The Atlantic Blankets family also includes team members Michelle and Sarah; Michelle keeps the behind the scenes in tip-top shape, and adds the finishing touches to your purchases. She's what you'd call a super woman; cool, calm and collective, and really brings the ‘happy’ to the showroom.
And Sarah is a vital member of the team who not only looks after our Devon and Cornwall wholesale customers, but is an avid sea lover, and super stylish surfer; she reminds us to make that connection with the sea on a regular basis.
