Sustainability, the Atlantic Way: How We Care for the Coast

At Atlantic Blankets, sustainability isn’t a tick box – it’s a way of life. Inspired by the coast and committed to protecting it, we weave care into every part of our process. From the materials we choose to the partnerships we build, our journey is all about treading lightly and giving back to the sea and shores that inspire us.

1. Thoughtful Materials

Our blankets are crafted from recycled cotton, natural wool, and responsibly sourced fibres. Why does this matter? Because choosing recycled materials means using less water, generating less waste, and embracing circularity - keeping resources in use for longer. We design our blankets to last, focusing on durability over fast fashion, so you can enjoy them for years to come.

2. Made in the UK

We believe in supporting local craftsmanship and reducing carbon miles. That’s why every Atlantic Blanket is ethically made right here in the UK, in collaboration with mills and makers who share our values. By working closely with trusted partners, we ensure quality, care, and respect for people and the planet at every stage.

3. Reducing Waste

Sustainability is about more than materials - it’s a mindset. We produce in small batches to avoid overstock, creatively reuse fabric offcuts for future projects, and package our blankets in recyclable materials with thoughtful wrapping. Every choice is made with care to minimise waste and environmental impact.

4. Our Ocean Promise

For every blanket you buy, we remove 10 ocean-bound plastic bottles through our partnerships with GoodAPI and Plastic Bank. But it doesn’t stop there - we continually invest in ocean conservation projects to help protect the places we love. Every hug from an Atlantic Blanket supports cleaner oceans and a healthier planet.

    5. Coastal Wellbeing

We’re not just protecting the coast - we’re living it. Our team benefits from ‘Sea Days,’ a chance to recharge by the ocean and embrace its restorative power. Through initiatives like Sharing the Ocean, we support women to connect with and learn from the sea. We’re proud to be Guardians of Penhale Dunes and active members of Surfers Against Sewage, working alongside 250+ passionate advocates.

We're on a journey - not to do everything, but to do the right things well. If you’d like to explore how your blanket makes a difference, dive into Our Ocean Promise or browse our Seakind Stories to learn more.
