What inspired you to create Atlantic Blankets?
My journey began balancing family life with my career in marketing. I wanted to build something that truly reflected my values - a brand rooted in the beauty of the coast I grew up loving and a way to give back to the environment that inspires me.
Together with my partner Alistair, who brings his expertise in Interior Design, we channel our passion for the sea into crafting blankets that bring comfort while caring for the coast.
What has been your proudest achievement so far?
Building a family business that supports us personally and connects us with a community who shares our values. Our blankets aren’t just products - they’re part of people’s lives, their stories, and their homes. It’s incredibly rewarding to see our community grow and know that we’re making a positive impact locally - supporting coastal wellbeing and sustainability.
How has your love for the sea shaped your life and business?
Growing up by the shore gave me a lifelong connection to the ocean’s calm and beauty. That connection shapes everything we do - from sustainable sourcing to protecting the Penhale Dunes as proud Guardians. The coast reminds me to slow down, appreciate nature’s simple joys, and live mindfully.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I love spending time with family and friends outdoors - beach walks, watching sunsets, or just being near the sea. Surfing is my way to deepen my bond with the ocean; it’s thrilling and grounding at the same time. Swimming lets me appreciate the sea’s peaceful side.
What are your hopes for Atlantic Blankets and your personal life?
I want to keep growing our business sustainably, staying true to our purpose of comfort and coastal care. I hope more people find warmth and connection through our blankets and join our mission to protect the ocean.
Personally, I’m focused on balancing life, nurturing creativity, and cherishing time with loved ones.
What advice would you give to others chasing their dreams?
Find your own “sea” - that passion or place that brings you peace and inspiration. Embrace the journey, take risks, and dream big. Life’s richest stories come from following your heart.
