Pantone's Colour of the Year 2020
Pantone's Colour of the Year is Classic Blue, a rich shade of blue between royal and navy; 'timeless' and 'enduring'.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, says: ‘We are living in a time that requires trust and faith. It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by Pantone 19-405 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on.’
Last year’s ‘Living Coral’ was vibrant and fun; helping to increase awareness of our oceans and dying coral.
This year's Classic Blue is meant to symbolise “protection, stability, peace and confidence, as well as encouraging deep thinking, open mindfulness and communication”. Although not directly linked with the ocean, we will certainly be putting our own ocean spin on this, after all what better place than the ocean for 'deep thinking' and 'mindfulness'.
