From chickenpox to The Atlantic Blanket Company…

When our little girl suffered a miserable bout of the spotty pox early in 2007, I knew exactly the kind of blanket she needed to help her feel better but I couldn’t easily get my hands on one. I remembered from my own childhood in Ireland the silky feel of a much-loved brushed mohair throw that possessed magical curative powers of cosiness and the comforting scent of my mother’s perfume.

Searching the web provided no success, no catalogues I had seen contained quite the right thing, shopping was off until the chickenpox has passed, and anyway that kind of shop is scarce where we live in north Cornwall…

The thunderbolt idea of The Atlantic Blanket Co. struck while I was at the ironing board. If I couldn’t find these blankets then neither could anyone else and that was the starting point.
