Tell us a little about your personal journey and what led you to create Atlantic Blankets.
My personal journey is a reflection of my need to balance the responsibilities of raising children with my professional aspirations. At the time, I was immersed in the field of marketing, but I soon realised the importance of charting my own course, one that would harmonise with our shared passions and expertise.
My life's journey has been profoundly shaped by my deep affinity for the sea and the coastal way of life. Having grown up by the shoreline, I cultivated a strong connection with the ocean's beauty. This deep bond, in combination with Alistair's extensive expertise in Interior Design as my partner and co-owner, played a pivotal role in the creation of Atlantic Blankets.
Here, we find inspiration in our coastal surroundings to meticulously craft beautiful, sustainable blankets, channeling our mutual love for the sea.
What is your proudest achievement in business so far, and how has it impacted your customers?
My proudest achievement in business is undoubtedly building a venture that not only supports our family but also enriches our community. It's incredibly empowering to nurture a business that allows us, as a family, to collaborate closely, set our own schedules, and be actively involved in our children's lives.
However, the true essence of this achievement lies in the positive impact it has had on our customers and the wider community. We've witnessed our customer base grow and thrive, forming a vibrant community of individuals who share our passion for the products we create. This sense of community extends beyond transactions; it's about fostering connections, sharing stories, and making our blankets a part of our customers' lives.
Moreover, as our business has grown, we've been able to give back to our local community, supporting local causes and organisations that are close to our hearts. Knowing that our success directly contributes to the well-being of our community fills us with immense pride.
What ignited your love for the sea and the coastal lifestyle, and how has it shaped your life?
My love for the sea has deep roots in my childhood. Growing up near the coast, I spent countless hours exploring the shoreline, collecting seashells, and feeling the sand beneath my feet. This connection to the sea has stayed with me throughout my life. It's a source of inspiration, tranquility, and a reminder of the beauty of nature. The coastal lifestyle has shaped not only our business but also our daily lives. It's a constant reminder of the importance of simplicity and appreciating the little things.
Beyond your business, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy during your free time?
I find solace in spending time with my friends and family, whether it's a day at the beach, a coastal walk, or simply watching the sunset together.
Moreover, I'm deeply passionate about surfing, which is my way of forging an even more intimate connection with the ocean. Riding waves not only provides exhilaration but also allows me to experience the sheer beauty and power of the sea. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoy swimming, as it offers a different perspective and appreciation for the water's tranquility.
What are your aspirations for the future, both personally and for Atlantic Blankets?
Personally, my aspirations revolve around continuing to find balance in life, cherishing moments with my friends & family, exploring and nurturing my creativity.

If you could share one piece of wisdom or advice with others who are pursuing their passions, what would it be?
I would encourage others to embrace the journey and find their own "sea" – that special place or passion that brings them peace and inspiration. Don't be afraid to take risks and dream big. Life is an adventure, and the most beautiful stories are often written by those who follow their hearts.
